Blisters, ugh

It blows my mind how people are able to walk around NY with really nice shoes on. I see tons of women wearing heels or even just strappy sandals all the time yet when I try it the result is never pleasant. Even when I wear relatively comfortable shoes I get blisters just because I'm walking so much. I even got blisters the other day wearing tennis shoes because the seam of my socks rubbed.

The shoe issue has gotten much harder now that its summer. Everybody wears these really cute sandals that have no support in them and have tons of straps. I've been looking all over trying to find comfortable sandals. I finally decided on a pair that had really soft leather straps, sadly they don't have a lot of support. I wore them the other day and managed to get a blister on the ball of my foot. How is that even possible? Isn't the bottom of your foot made to not do that. My poor feet look horrible with blisters on almost every side.

This post is really just me complaining but I'm totally open to suggestions if anyone has any.

  1. I have ZERO suggestions, because I'm still dealing with the same thing after 4 years! I was starting to wonder if I have "special" feet because I need support and get blisters easily. And for the past 3 days I've been dealing with horrible pain in my foot for wearing the same flip flops too much. I got some cute Crocs that I plan on wearing tomorrow...we'll see how they work! :)

  2. What you need is called moleskin, Dr scholls makes it, I'm sure there are other brands. You can buy it in rolls and strips and you stick it on your foot (not the shoe!) where your shoe is rubbing. You also can cut it into donut shapes to protect blisters you already have. I used to use it frequently with dress shoes that rubbed at the heel. I'm drinking a coke for you!

  3. That is exactly why I decided a few years ago to stick with my SAS oxfords -- the support. Of course my being older makes it not look so odd. I think the last time I wore anything else was for Ashley's and Heather's weddings.
I really enjoy your blogs. NANNY WHITE
